There are 8 white-bordered Head-to-Head Cards
Head-to-Head Categories are WORD & THING
WORD--------name any word that might appear in a movie title.
The word can be as common as THE or as rare as MENACE.
The more common the word the higher the scoring.
The word can appear inside other words.
Example: The word is MAN
Acceptable Answers:
The MAN Who Fell to Earth
The MANchurian Candidate
A WoMAN Under the Influence
THING--------name any categorical thing that appears in movie titles.
The broader the thing the better.
Numbers, colors and animals are great examples.
You can't use the name of the thing as an answer.
You can only use the example of the thing.
Example: The Thing for the hand is NUMBERS
Acceptable Answers:
101 Dalmations
28 Days Later
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
WORD and THING are played the same way. After the WORD and/or THING is named, the losing team answers. The opposing team has to make a decision: accept the answer or call a bluff.
ACCEPTING ANSWERS
If a team thinks the movie title is an actual movie, they accept it by having their Producer add a poker chip to the pot. Once the chip is placed in the pot, the answer is accepted. You can use the Popcorn Poker box for the pot.
Play continues, alternating teams until one team catches the other team bluffing two times.
All titles must be exact (Unless a FREE REFILL is played).
CALLING BLUFFS
If a team thinks the movie title answer is wrong (or just plain made up), they can have their Producer call a bluff. The Producers from both teams go online for a fact check.
If the answer is not a movie, the bluffing team gets a CORN BURN. If the answer is correct, the CORN BURN boomerangs back to the team that called the bluff.
One chip goes in the pot for each accepted movie title.
You can use a FREE REFILL during your turn. (See: What's a FREE REFILL)
If both teams make it all the way to 30 chips in the pot, players keep answering but now they only have 10 seconds.
Teams go around alternating answers until one team loses the hand by getting two CORN BURNS.
The winning team gets all the points in the pot. 30 point maximum.
If they have not been CORN BURNED, the winning team can also add-on points. They can use any unused FREE REFILL. Once the 3rd CORN BURN is used the hand is over.
The winning team gets one point for each chip in the pot.
WARNING!
THING is the most dangerous card. Since Dealers define the thing and definitions can get subjective, be sure to give a clear definition. Teams not only must decide whether the answer is an actual movie title but they also must determine whether the thing in the title matches the Dealer's definition of it.
For example, teams might battle over whether WIND is a form of transportation or whether BLOOD is a food. Once a precedent is set during a hand, all similar answers should be allowed.
It only takes one player from the opposing team to allow a THING answer.
Beware of the slippery slope! If FOOD is the thing and someone says a movie with FEAST in the title and it is allowed, all types of meals will qualify as answers.
